A Cut Above The RestSomething very interesting
happened today. As I was reviewing the most current chapter rankings, I found what appear to be separate rankings from a
married couple. This alone is not so interesting, but when coupled with the email comments I received from both of them (separately),
I really got a good laugh. The gentleman goes on to praise the book and then goes into an "exhale" of his own; which
I can only call amazing. There is language that not even I would use. In contrast, his wife commented that while
she saw much of herself in the chapters of the book, she was sure that her husband would say that she was "a cut above
the rest". Well, I am sure he really loves you very, very much, but his comments didn't exactly leave me with the
feeling that you were "a cut above the rest".
To the gentlemen, I say: Tell your wife openly how you feel. However,
choose your words carefully and please refrain from some of the language you used in your email to me. To the lady: Take a
couple of steps down and come stand on the same ground as the rest of us. You are only a cut above the rest because you chose
him and he chose you. Just like the rest of us, everything else is understanding, working together and compromise.
It is very
interesting indeed, how couples may navigate life with a much different perception of how they view each other.
It got me thinking about what if couples (like the one above) got to compare their rankings...what would they
say? What would they learn?
